Susie Grantham
Director
Susie leads our Proposals, Bid Management and Marketing departments. She can draw on over 20 years of experience to offer a highly professional, focused, bespoke service for our clients.
Starting a career in marketing led Susie onto owning a successful bar, restaurant and events business. Following the sale of the business, she began working for a global aggregates business around the time PQQs and bids were moving away from tick boxes and the need for a more polished bespoke written document was required to accompany the pricing envelope. This led to a decade working on major infrastructure and tunnelling projects, heading up a highly successful pre-contract team.
With experience in all areas of bidding, Susie is the driving force in any team. She brings energy, strategic thinking and an inclusive, personable approach to ensure high quality bid outputs are produced and delivered on time.
Graham Smart
Director
Graham is responsible for the commercial and estimating side of the business for the UK and overseas.
He has over 20 years’ experience in Civil Engineering working on some of the largest infrastructure projects in the country. Graham started his career on site as a Civil Engineer before specialising in the Pre-Delivery disciplines of Bid Management, Estimating and Cost Consulting.
Graham brings commercial knowledge, leadership and a collaborative approach, and thrives in the Early Contractor Involvement stage of a project. He understands the need to optimise the value delivered for the best outcomes, by aligning all objectives from the outset and is a passionate exponent of collaboration and its benefits.
Graham is an expert in the delivery of major projects and programmes of work across all areas of infrastructure, including working with joint ventures and alliances.
Graham is a member of the Institute of Civil Engineering Surveyors and holds BEng Hons Civil Engineering and MSc Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management qualifications.
Steve Rothwell
Proposals Lead
Steve works closely with Susie, helping our clients to deliver high quality written bid submissions. He is a work winning specialist with significant experience of developing and delivering transport and infrastructure tenders. Proposals management and bid writing experience includes working on large joint venture tenders, (including HS2 Phase One, Thames Tideway Tunnel and the London Underground Future Stations Programme) and delivering successful transport planning framework bids in the Midlands. Steve brings energy and a team-orientated approach to work winning, recognising that winning bids are the result of excellent teamwork and that the process is there to be enjoyed.
Steve’s work winning expertise is supplemented by public and private sector experience of planning, developing, and promoting transport strategies, plans and schemes to achieve wider economic, social, and environmental outcomes.
Callum Corcoran
Estimator
Callum works closely with Graham, providing estimates and programmes for our clients to provide a winning solution. He has specialised in civil engineering estimating for nearly 10 years and brings accuracy, experience, and enthusiasm. Callum has gained significant experience in preparing estimates on high value highway, rail and infrastructure projects. He is excellent team player who thrives on supporting and developing others to achieve targeted results.
With an analytical, methodical, precise, and energetic approach, Callum helps businesses produce accurate and robust estimates that ensure tender timelines are met. His excellent people skills allow him to adapt to new working environments and fit easily into new teams. He offers support to his clients to ensure work is undertaken collaboratively and effectively. He is passionate about working on projects and schemes that provide economic and social benefits to people and places.
Emma Potter
Bid Writer
Emma works closely with Susie and Steve, supporting development and delivery of compelling bid submissions that will maximise likelihood of client success.
With a background in scientific research, including a Ph.D. in molecular evolution, Emma is meticulous and skilled at delivering high-quality written material aligned to specialist sector requirements. She has specialised as a bid writer for over three years, delivering winning written material for tenders ranging in value from £1m to £250m for clients ranging from local SMEs to multi-national infrastructure and support services. When not writing, Emma channels her energy into running, music and caring for her two daughters.
